I'm quite intelligent (or like to think I am), I'm witty, and I'm fiercely loyal. I like to joke around and really appreciate a girl who can keep up. I can be a little selfish at times, but on the upside I'm also unusually honest, and can be very romantic for the right girl. I'm very forthright about my opinions, beliefs and feelings, and I'm great with kids and animals (both of which are also very honest and forthright creatures).
I should probably also point out that I'm not actually evil, OR a twin. I was just going for a corny, fun nickname, but I'm starting to wish I'd used my second choice instead, which was "MustLoveDags".
I know I look all super-serious in my pics, but those are all I had lying around on my PC (took 'em for a work ID photo). In reality, I smile plenty, spending a lot of time sporting a lop-sided cheeky smirk or the classic full-face beamer. If you really want to see me smile, you're just gonna have to make me. ;)
I like to read books, watch movies, listen to music, I'm into comedy (I like to laugh, but then who doesn't?), computers, video games, food and cooking, bike rides (bicycle or motorbike), cars, and a bunch of other stuff I can't think of off the top of my head. I like to write, draw, and build things. I'm an odd sort of scientific/creative type.
I like to go out, especially somewhere new and interesting, but on the whole I tend to prefer a quiet night in (cook a nice meal and watch a couple movies, etc), but I prefer it even more with the right company with which to share it. The problem with actually meeting a girl that prefers a quiet night in, though, is that they're generally all in their homes having one. Since it tends to be frowned upon to barge into random strangers houses at night and ask them on dates, though, I'll just have to hope some of those girls have registered on this site...
I've just recently moved back home to Perth after teaching English in Japan for two years, and it'd be nice to meet someone new as I start a new era in my life.
(Oh, and all the blackboard and pencil drawings in my pics are ones drawn by me, messing about with my English students in Japan.)
My ideal match is someone pretty similar to me, really. Someone who likes to read, likes movies and scripted TV shows (basically, someone who enjoys a good story in any form). Someone who knows her way around a computer and who can appreciate a really good meal the way I do.
Really, I'd just like to meet a girl who shares a few of my interests and has the ability to crack a decent joke. In the end, it all comes down to the quality of the time you spend together, and having a lot of common interests makes for great and abundant conversation, plus it means there's a lot of activities you can share, which is great for bonding.
I don't care about your level of formal education or your income, I want to meet someone who shares similar values and philosophies with me. The sort of kindred spirit who could potentially become a long-term partner. Don't let that scare you off, though. I'm perfectly happy to start as friends and see how things go. I'm an old-fashioned guy and I like to take things slowly.
As to my "type", well... In a nutshell, I like geeky girls. Girls who'd rather talk about books or movies, science or art, music or philosophy, etc. Like any other guy, I'm a sucker for a cute exterior, but if there's no real depth underneath to back it up I'll lose interest quickly. If you think that you might just be a little bit nerdy, deep down, then I think we'll probably get along fine...
(Also, this being the Internet, I'd appreciate it if you didn't harvest my kidneys for black-market organ sales. I don't want to sound too old-fashioned, but stealing my internal organs is a major turn-off for me, and if you do it I can't guarantee I'll ask you on a second date.) |
